Knock knock

In 5 weeks my brother and I are going from East CT and swinging over and down through PA

We will continue with the idea to cross the mountains east/ west mostly

Is the BRP t0o heavily patroled to enjoy the ride even on week days ( 30 years ago we escorted off and asked not to return )

Any real must do roads my brother thinks its US 250 any others

Don't think we will make it to the Deals Gap

BtW NEVA15 if it goes off will be in Old Forge NY so sort of near you guys

THE BRP is worth the ride- no trucks 45mph for the most part and that is ample fast considering a 5-9mph overage is pretty safe) and not too many rangers overall. Just watch out in the areas where the speed limit drops to 35mph (usually not far but those are the hot spots).

The Skyline Dr the 110 miles of park roads due north of the BRP while a beautiful ride is only 35mph and some 25mph and more heavily patrolled. Beautiful on a clear day but the low speed will wear you out - a radar detector would be a good purchase for that stretch of road.

If you are set on west east/east west - but the BRP is hard to beat imo especially if you haven't ridden it before - here are some other roads you may like.
211 two sets of ranges to cross
250 is nice,
56 is a good ride
60 isn't bad

Radar detectors are not legal in VA. You can pulled for just having one powered on.

welcome to Virginia...where 20 fun units above compliant with the Man gets you the death penalty. Just go around through WV and save yourself a lot of harassment and legal problems.

I had a chat with a LEO about 45 in a 40 zone in the local mountains yesterday.. My condolences to youse guys that have the whole of the BRP to try to behave.
Some committees need to be having some whoop ass and change a few sign postings.
Anyone been over the Beartooth where it's posted 75?
Now that's civilized.
