Had one, took it off

Had one on my 08 Wee. Took up so much grip space and just couldn't get used to it so I took it off. Then i tried putting in on my DR and didn't like it there either. I made a throttle lock out of a piece of wire, it works OK, not as good at holding the throttle as the one that fits over the grip, but takes up little space. Vista looks like it would be a good set up, I'm goin to try the Go Cruise. Might want to sell the over grip throttle lock (forget the name of it)

I wanted to note, however, that contrary to the OP, I did need to move my mirror/brake in slightly to make room for the bar clamp. As delivered, it was too close to the switch housing. Had to move in perhaps 1/8", though I was able to slide it back out ever so slightly once the lock was installed.
I put one of these on when I first got the bike, it had a tendency to creep slower when I let go of the throttle, then I see "You need to use the thicker (rather than thinner) rubber for the stock grip". Damn, what a difference that made.

thanks

greywolf I had the NEP CC4 on my '07 and the Universal Vista Cruise on my '05. They both worked well.

I didn't use the NEP CC4, because I didn't want to cut my grips, which I believe would have been required. I used the Vista Cruise Universal MCUVOO-P for 7/8" bar shown in the original post. The only downside is you'll lose a little grip width on the inside (because it is covered by the lock ring). I also have grip puppies, and this is completely compatible, but you'll have to trim the puppy.

Removed bar end and disconnected outside fingers of OEM hand guard. Removed grip puppy. Installed VC bar clamp. Positioned VC grip ring. Mounted cross bar. Trimmed grip puppy to new length and reinstalled. Reinstalled bar end. Adjusted acorn nut for appropriate hold and release.

Good luck.

dtcjem I just installed on my 09'. Piece of cake, had to move nothing. Hardest part of this install was compressing the little sprint on the thumb piece to pass bolt through.

Wish I had put this on earlier.
