This whole thread, and others like it are mainly shouting personal preferences. What if I said it oughta come with BT-023 street tires.
We all disagree.
Zooky is right by offering a base model and let the after market take care of personal tastes.

Some Winter Accessories
Getting the 2012 Wee next month, and Im thinking of some winter type of accessories for now, such as OEM handguards, and Oxford heated grips. I would also like the centerstand but cant justify the OEM as its nearly $200 more than the SM stand, same with the OEM heated grips. I guess the plug would be nice also for heated clothes but since I dont have any I can wait for that extra item, just going to have to tough it out. Wished Suzuki would be a little more competive with their pricing. Also I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas

|ukiboy||I have a DL650X which comes as standard with handguards, engine bars and sump protector. All very useful mods. I opted for the optional centre stand which is very useful as is the aftermarket topbox and fender extenda. A madstad bracket tops off the list. Out of all of them I would say the madstad is most useful as the standard screen setup gives intolerable buffeting at higher speeds. However, the Wee is a top bike straight out of the crate, especially when compared to some bikes, such as Harleys, Ducatis, certain Triumphs etc..|

1. Disappears in short order. It may already be non existent on the Glee, especially if the rider is Strom experienced.
2. Legal issues pretty much prevent it though it should be closer. The law says the speedo can be close but can never register less than the vehicle is moving. Make it accurate for a new stock tire and tire wear alone can make it illegal much less a different make of tire.

I am with stevewz on his improvements; they are general updates everyone would love to have.
I think to have Suzuki grow some profits and still make the customer happy have model options. A OEM road touring version, OEM adventure (100% Off-road version) and a commuter/sport version.
These add-ons can be Givi/Suzuki, Madstad/Suzuki collaborations but then different options could give a slightly different look to the bike and make some add-ons more seamless in the design.
Then each Stromer and add additional things as wanted/needed.

I think standard equipment should be:
1. Gear indicator instead of just a green Neutral light.
2. Center stand and hand guards.
3. Madstad bracket on the windshield.
4. Fenda Extenda (longer front fender).
5. Fork brace.
1. Get rid of false neutrals between 5th and 6th gear.
2. Correct the speedo to be accurate. Duh.
Other than that, one of the reasons why I got the V-Strom was it's ability to be farkled inexpensively (compared to H-D and BMW, especially). Plus, it has a huge variety of farkles available. I have damn near every option installed on my bike, and bought a variety of riding gear and two sets of Givi luggage, and still paid less than a base-model BMW GS, with arguably better reliability and lower service costs.
