A tip when fitting tubes in tyres

Most will know that when you fit a tubeless tyre (car or bike) if you put a ratchet strap around the tread and tighten it up it will spread the beads and make them seal on the rim quicker and easier when you put the air in.

Well on the weekend I had to repair two tubes on a couple of my farm bikes, I could not find my wire valve puller and was having trouble getting my hands into the tyre to fit the valve stem into the hole in the rim.

I used the ratchet strap trick to spread the beads, by having the ratchet mechanism on the tyre where the valve hole was I had more than enough room to fit the stem and without any pain too.
