Thinking about taking this route from Burlington towards Errol. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
15 to 100 to 58 to 5A to 105 to 3/102 to 26.
Yes, that is a good route. I have ridden most of those roads over the past view years. Here is a suggestion, around East Johnson, pick up Rt 100c. It will be an even more rural road, and it will cut off the "corner" of riding Rt 15 down to Hyde Park, to pick up Rt 100. Although, that isn't bad either.
Here is a link to your route, and my modification to it: Burlington, VT to Errol, NH - Google Maps
Either purchase DeLorme Vermont, and New Hampshire Gazetteers, or spend time "zooming in" with Google maps. The best thing is to do both!
I rode from Burlington, VT to Mount Desert Island, Maine today. I cheated though, I left Button Bay Campground, rode Rt 7 to Burlington, Rt 189 to Rt 89, then finally Rt 2 in Montpelier. "Yucky" riding! But, I had to make some time, and I did that by leaving at 6am, on a Sunday morning. Pretty much clear sailing all the way through!
PS, I like the idea of you arriving at Errol by riding through Dixville, Notch. Either arrive by that route, or depart by that route. Usually, I am traveling West and headed for Québec, so I am departing Errol by Rt 26. The fun is, seeing such how fast you can "stomach" passing over the crest of the notch before dropping down into Dixville. BIG "elevator" sensation!
PPS: Don't forget to take a photograph of your motorcycle parked in front of the Errol International Airport! That is a "Bucketlist Photo"!
