I'm a slacker, Tom.

I will be wearing slacks, during the dinner hour, when I visit with family next week at the Basin Harbor Club.

But, that statement just reminded me that, I need to do some laundry, so I have a clean pair of pants to where to work tomorrow. Off to do laundry!

a person who avoids work or effort.
a person who evades military service.
a young person (esp. in the 1990s) of a subculture characterized by apathy and aimlessness.

> I DO put effort into the many things that I like to do! However, I do avoid work...... But, the job is a "vehicle" to let me do the things that I like to do. So, I don't avoid it, because in doing so, I wouldn't be able to do the things that I like to do. (It's kind of a cruel and vicious cycle, don't you think?)

> I didn't evade military service. Nor would I if I had been drafted into the service. But alas, I have never served our country in a military fashion. In my later years, I have looked back at this fact with much regret.

> At age 54, am I still considered young? "With apathy, and aimlessness, I will pull on a pair of slacks, so that I can attend the evening dinner functions at the Basin Harbor Club."

[ Rich, don't get upset at Tom and me for hijacking your thread. You already have a duplicate thread going, on the same exact topic in another section of the forum. I will promise not to tamper with that one. And, I ain't no slacker when I make a promise to do something! ]

Apathy is in the eye of the beholder , and aimlessness may involve reliance upon a vindictive gps unit . You're spoiled by living in , or near , Paradise , which the rest of us have to strive to get to . I'm striving ...

For the non-GPX users among us, will there be a road book/cue sheet or similar?

That would be pretty sweet

I'll be there Friday afternoon, or evening, depending on whether I take the long way up. Expecting to get there in time to take a swim.

ride underway

I left home this morning , planning on breaking my 900 km jaunt to bath new Hampshire into at least two easy pieces .
300 km later , I sit in the flophouse motel in Kingston , Ontario , where the weather is alternating between bright sunshine and pouring rain.
I've just programmed the gps with tomorrow's route from the border crossing at Wolfe Island , via Clayton , NY , Lake Placid , Lake Champlain , and a wondrous selection of small towns in vermont.... to Bath , New Hampshire .
If I spot a vacancy sign in an interesting spot between here and Bath , I'll stay there tomorrow night , otherwise I'll get to the campsite early , and explore the countryside .
See you there !
