Americade 2012

2 or 3 of us are heading to Americade on Thursday the 7th. If you're interested in joining us, we'll be at the McDonald's in Greenfield, MA on Rt. 2 west about 7:30 and plan on leaving at 8am. I know some pretty good backroads to get up there and back. Let me know if you're interested.

Bill

I'm headed out on the 8th. Any suggestions on what roads to take? I am coming across Rt. 9.

9 is a decent road with it's big fast sweepers, at least until you get to Bennington. A bit slow getting through town. Continue on 9 and pick up 7S. If you need to make time get on 22N to 372 to 40N in Greenwich to 149 into Lake George.
If you want a slower 2 lane pick up 103 which starts from the little section where 22 and 7 are together in Hoosick. Follow that up across 67 to 59 then 74N to Greenwich and 40. From there I take backroads that are too complicated to type out and understand but it gets around Glens Falls without getting into the traffic.

On the way home we take 149 but shortly before Fort Ann/Rt. 4 intersection take a right onto Mattison Rd. to Green Barn Rd. then a right on 4 then a quick left onto Kingbury Rd. back onto 149. This all avoids the intersection in Fort Ann that can take a half hour or more to get through. We work our way over to Rt. 30 in VT and take it into Bratt and 91 south to get home.

Hope you have a good safe trip.
