Advice on where to buy my V-strom

First let me say that I really enjoy this site and realize it is a wealth of info for the Vee and Wee. That said I'm not trying to circumvent any rules of the site.
Anybody have any suggestions on where I might be able to find a used Vee? I have searched for dealers, craigslist, cycletrader, ebay, and several other sites. Unfortunately it's not an easy bike to find, and motorcycles do not seem to have any huge dedicated sites like autotrader ect...
So anybody have any suggestions of dealers or web sites that I may not have found?

I don't believe anyone is going to be able to give you anymore information than what you are already doing. Keep searching dealerships, Craigslist, Ebay, and Cycletrader. You may also want to add, Home | Uncle Henry's as well. The season is still a tad bit early yet. In a couple of weeks, you will see quite a few more bikes up for sale.

If buying a preowned bike, sometimes looking on the forums that are bike specific are usually a great place to shop the model. But you have to be ready to buy, usually in my experience forum bikes go quick. The seller usually knows what the bike will command in price and prices it accordingly if he is seriously interested in moving it. I have sold a few previous bikes in the forsale ads and they went quickly. Like within a week.

Reading a fourm members history and posts can give a little insight to the level of care a bike has been given or not. Or if the forum member has had lots of issues with the bike. Or if you even want to do busniess with the seller. People post anything and everything on forums, sometimes not realizing the forum history can be easily read later by a potential buyer. "Ya can't unring a bell"

It's not a silver bullet to a final offer, as I would always have to visually look the bike over and speak with the seller at length. I think there are good deals out there on used bikes. You just have to look around and know invoice, wholesale, and what the retail prices are. And most importantly was the bike properly maintained.
Just a few thoughts...
Good luck!

For Sale: 2007 DL-650 V-Strom, (Non-ABS). Always stored in a garage. Well taken care of. (Seriously, it has been! Just check my posts!). Anyway, it has low miles at just 100,000, and some of the bike is still OEM.

Priceless.

V-Strom for sale in Gloucester?

I just didn't have time to stop by and check it out, today, but two of my co-workers told me that there's a V-Strom with a For Sale sign sitting out in front of a house on Route 133 in Gloucester north of where it passes beneath Route 128. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's a Wee or a Vee and I won't have an opportunity to check it out until I'm back up to the Cape Ann area on Monday when I return to the office. But if YOU'RE out for a drive this weekend...

I never thought it would be this hard. Between sold, changed minds, no call backs, not running(or ready), and funky sounds in the motor, a descent Vee seems to be just out of my grasp. Hoping to hear from an seller about 200+ miles from here. Taking a chance going out that far I guess, but I figure if it's as described, it will be a nice ride back on my new(to me) Vee.
Update! Hell yeah! I found her! She's going to be all mine! Just have to fly out, check it out and ride her home! Almost sounds too good to be true, but from talking with the owner, it seems to be all I could ask for and more! He talked about every little detail, understanding I was coming a long way, and not wanting some angry guy dealing with the miss's no doubt(not that I would be angry, just disappointed). Just have to wait for the weekend when I have more time off work. 1 adult owner, 22k, farkles, dealer maintained, and still on the road. Going to need a rear tire, no biggy. Can't wait! Wish me Luck!
