Acadia National Park Suggestions Please

My wife suggested Acadia National Park as one of this summers camping destinations so I though who better to ask than the Stromers. We camp in a small pop-up without water or electric hookup. It has them but we never used them since we prefer a more rustic camping experience. The camper basically provides an elevated tent for us. The two kids (teenage) and wife like to kayak. We all like to hike and explore. Oh and there's the dog Elmo, who also likes to kayak but not so fond of hiking. I would appreciate suggestions for places to camp, sites to see, places to eat. Stuff like that. It's going to kill me leaving the bike home but family comes first in my book. Then again, maybe I could take a scouting trip some weekend. It wouldn't be the first time I used that little ploy. Thanks for your help.

Here is a site to help with your planning: Acadia National Park Maine - Bar Harbor Maine

Here is more specific park information: Acadia National Park - Home (U.S. National Park Service)

Mount Desert Island has been my home since 1984. Let me know when you plan to be here and I may be able to arrange a tour of, The Hinckley Company.

BL Thanks for the info and the invite. Hopefully this weather will let up soon and my son and I can get a day ride in before the camping trip. I'll ping you if that looks like a possibility. By the way, I worked at Irwin Marine as a mechanic for a few years so boats are right up my alley. Thanks again for the info.
