CT Roads Already in Bad Shape

Hey Guys,

We have had quite a bit of snow in CT. Already, I am seeing tons of road damage such as pot holes all over the place - much more than usual. Some of these holes are looking mighty big and deep. Today, I just missed one with the car that probably would have ruined my front end.

Anyways, just an early heads-up to anyone the might be traveling in CT, especially on your bike. Early spring riding should be interesting this year.

I would guess that other NE states are seeing this as well

Thanks,

Bruce

That sucks!! I usually do most of my early spring riding in CT cuz the roads up here in Mass are in MUCH worse shape. It's June before most of the holes get filled. It's one of the reasons I do most of my riding in the Fall.

Fortunately we just keep our potholes filled with ice and snow in Boston. Its the 5-7 foot snowbanks with magically appearing cars at every intersection that is the real hazard at this point...

One of my dotters destroyed a wheel rim and tire today near Boston by hitting one of the annual landmines. Thankfully she was on 4 wheels and not two.

Same here, the Twin Cities roads are in horrible shape. Big pot holes everywhere

What's the point if you don't enjoy the ride?

Same here with those high snowbanks. I usually ride my bike in the winter - keeping it ready for spring. I decided that I won't ride until those snowbanks are no longer hazardous.

Hey Bruce, glad to see you're still riding! You too Tom! Vermont has found a new way to fund road repairs this year. Unfortunately I didn't have the hay to pay the toll today. She wasn't happy.

Hey Tom,
I'm still riding. I fooled around with a few other bikes and came back to the DL650. It's just a great bike and fun to ride.
I'm sure I will get up there again and hopefully, get a ride in with you guys.

I see that Jack and Tom are still around. Where's JohnS. and Dan(dmf109 ) any Idea?

NY City is the same

New York City is just as bad... potholes everywhere.
Local roads and highway (I95 looks like a mine field)

Hi Bruce, maybe I should check in here a little more often. Jack and I are still riding buddies looking forward to doing some dual sport riding. He's got a DR650 and I have a DR-Z400s. We still have the DL's too. I just can't be without one. This is going to be a VERY good season if the snow ever stops falling. I don't know what happened to a lot of the guys who used to hang out here, but I hope they're still riding some kind of motorcycle. I've been making rear luggage racks for the DR-Z400s and selling them on different DS forums and fleabay.

Here's what I'm looking forward to very soon.
