What it might mean.

I have seen signs like that question mark in Ontario,
where they mean an Ontario information kiosk is present.
Most of the question marks I've seen have been brown,
which I consider a singularly rotten color for a sign.

Here's a plug for those kiosks in Ontario. You can get a fine map of Ontario, free.
You can get pamphlets for all sorts of attractions, accommodation, and restaurants.
At some kiosks, you can exchange US$ for CDN$. I do not know how favorable (or favourable) the rate is.

For contrast, visit a similar kiosk in Regina SK. You can get a map of Idaho
or Montana free, but a map of Saskatchewan will cost you money.

Thanks for the ride report and the intriguing photos!
Keith
