Who beat me to it?

Called in for a deal on a blue 650 in Enfield and the salesperson said the price was what it was. Two days later I went down to try to negotiate a deal and it was gone! Today I bought the better looking gray one for a good price!

At the huge dealer near me you an lose a bike in a few hours this time of year. I was there for an hour last weekend and probably heard ten sales announced during the hour.

2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS (Candy Daring Red)
2017 Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS (Graphite Grey)
2013 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS Adventure (sold)

I think my friend, John, got that bike. He bought a new '15 blue leftover from Enfield Motorsports a week or two ago. Been helping him farkle. Crash bars, SW Motech rack with Givi hard bags so far. He's lovin' it. I'm on a '12 650 adventure. When John asked my advice on what bike to buy, I told him that truly, I'd been thinking of buying a new bike this spring. And as I studied all the bikes out there, and thought about what they had to offer and who I am as a motorcyclist, I'd buy a new DL650! So I kept the one I already had! Got 26,000 miles on in the three riding seasons I've had it and just had a pile of preventative maintainence done. Gonna be riding the Rockies and high deserts this year and into next! Good luck with your new bike. I think you've made a GREAT choice!

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - quote attributed to Helen Keller.

Hey Gary,
Glad to hear you're doing well. Can't agree with you more. Loved my '11 Wee, and only sold it to get my '14 Vee2. For the money, I don't think you can do any better than a Vstrom 650.

A core group of Mohawk Trail weekend riders will be keeping the torch going in Silver Lake Vt. June 24, thanks to quick thinking by Pete(tnkrplt). A whole bunch of us would certainly have rathered your signature MTSFMCW weekend, but alas-nothing is forever.

Ride safe,

I was watching the deals down in Enfield and also CT Power and Sport in Wallingford earlier this winter but I ended up getting a great deal from MTR Racing in Rhode Island which is much closer to me. They are a small dealer compared to the other 2 above but really nice people.
Very happy with the new bike.

Hi Syd,
Yes, I've been following the progress of MTSFMCW/Vermont. It looks like it's gonna be a great time. If I was going to be in the area I would not miss that one. Pete and Ginni do put on a great outing. Enjoy!
Ride safe all.

PS: 1.3G, it may have been March when John bought the bike. How many blue DL650s could Enfield Motorsports have had??? Enjoy your new bike.
And ride safe all.
