Mohawk Trail Motorcycle Camping Weekend 2014

Hey Kids,
Pulled the trigger and reserved the group site at Mohawk Trail State Forest for 2014!
The dates: Arrive Friday, June 6. Depart Monday, June 9.
I open this motorcycling and camping event to Stromtroopers and KLRistas over on KLR650.net.
I'd like to keep it to 20 campers or so. The site supposedly is open to 50, but that would be way too crowded. I think this will be the 4th annual.
Mohawk Trail State Forest is located on Route 2, about 3 miles west of the town of Charlemont, MA
For more details and to get a feel for this happening, just check the archives of this forum for the evolution and report of last year's campout. :-)
I know it's early, but ya gotta reserve this site well in advance. It's a beautiful site.
So, ring in with your thoughts!
I'm hoping to catch up with old friends and meet new. Ride safe.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - quote attributed to Helen Keller.

Thanks Gary! That almost qualifies as an early Christmas present! :thumb up:
Let me know if you want or need any help. I can bring some firewood on Friday, no problem!
And thanks for the heads up Dick!

I was hoping for another winter like 2 years ago. So far, not so much! :thumb down:
I've got BB Storms and Rox risers on the way, so at least I can be with the bike farkling. Rather be riding though….

Rich........................... Huh?

Sbeadg.......They don't allow imported firewood because of Asian Long Horned Beetle and one other pest. We chip in and buy it there..... and they deliver!!

Is it June yet? lol :-)

The Berkshire riders part of Netra used to put on a dual sport ride out of where rt8 and 57 intersect. It was a well run event with the main route adventure bike capable and with HEROS only for true dirt bikes.

Then the man who did it got a terminal cancer diagnosis with a few months to live , so it stopped. Well when he found himself still alive after 2 years he put it on again hence "Not dead yet ride". The last couple of years it has morphed into an AMA sanctioned Adventure Ride where your HAD to be an AMA member to go along with the event fee so I think like $80.... so no thanks.

I intend on NEMA14 to be on and around all the Berks including 116, Zoar, Green River, 8a and connectors, thus looking for better roads.

"Not dead yet" ride, huh? What a GREAT name for an event! I'm really glad to hear this fellow is surviving well beyond expectations. Yeah, ya don't go and bury yourself just cause some doc says you're gonna die!
This camp out has nothing to do with anything even remotely "organized" except that I've secured the site! To a great degree it's been a success much more so due to BeemerJim's skillfull leadership on rides over hill and dale. He's already written me that he's planning on being there!
Do come and join us! :-)
