I rode the first year of the BW200..
Truth be told, I was bored, but I rode it on my KDX200 that was set up for offroad competition, and I'd ridden a few enduros that year.. I wanted WAY more hero sections.. I was used to extreme off road riding and wanted more of it and less easy stuff.. Kinda stupid, now that I look back..
Now, if I did it again, I'd ride my KLR650 and slap on some actual offroad tires... I think it'd be fun, and I'm fatter now, so there's that extra challenge..
The event is TOP NOTCH!!!! John puts on a hell of an event. Even the first year event was organized perfectly..
My only problem was that it rained before I got there, and it was pouring on Sunday morning, so almost everyone (including myself) headed home.
The single track was great.
I rode it on an offroad bike, not a dual sport bike. I think a dual sport bike would make for a great event, and someday I'll get off my butt and do it again, but this time on the KLR.. My Strom will soon be wearing Michelin Pilot Road tires, and I plan on keeping as a road bike, with occasional gravel duty..
