Akron / Y-town Ohio area [email protected] 12 hour ride

Hello everyone,
I have been contemplating putting together a ride, the primary goal being to experience the BEST roads in eastern Ohio

I'm trying to get an idea of how many would be interested.
The plan so far will be as follows...
Meet up somewhere between Akron and Youngstown early on a Saturday in late August.
I was thinking the Circle restaurant in Deerfield. Break into groups no larger than 3-4 riders of similar experience and riding style. Head directly south, riding through mid-eastern Ohio hills (I'm working on the route details, but the goal will be to ride as little 4-lane as possible). Each group would wait at given checkpoints for the group before, before leaving out for the next, so first in, first out. This way we could take care of problems along the way as needed, but give everyone a lot of room to ride without the problems of a large group. The intended route will do the triangle- including Ohio's dragon route 536, and route 555 up to Zanesville.
It's a very scenic area with very challenging roads; a nice ride if we can get decent weather in late August / early september.
Some of the roads I have in mind are:
The Carrollton area
route 9, to Carrollton
routes 43, 646,

area south of I70:
routes 536, 78, 800, 26 over to Marietta to Belpre to 555 to Zanesville.

From there ??

Some details to work out would be the least straight (most fun) way to get from the Carrollton area to the triangle area south of 70, and where to go after 555 ends in Zanesville.

So, who's in?

I'm interested, but can't commit 100% due to unpredictabilities. Any weekend in August is as good as any other.

Hi Trooper32. Sounds like fun. (My feeble mind is grasping at names....Steve, right?) Mark me down as a maybe. I'll keep an eye on this thread as you sort out the plans. I haven't been riding as much this year, so I'm not sure if my butt could handle a 12-hour day.

Gary,
Yeah, you're right... Steve here. Seems like there's not too much interest around here, so I'm thinking about opening it up to other makes and posting it on the Ohio-rider website.
I think it will be a grueling ride, but sometimes a challenge is fun! I would like to wait until late September / October, but the way the weather has been this year, it could be snowing then!

Steve,
Speed Triple, nice!
I am with Gary on this, my riding this year has also been minimal and a 12hr ride would be sore along with exhausting. But still sounds like fun.

22 West to 60 South in Zanesville
60 South 555 south
555 south to 550 East in Bartlett
550 east to 7 north in Marietta
short jog on 7 North to 60S to route 26 east in Marietta
26 east to 260 east
260 east to 7 north
7 north to 800 north
800 north to 78 east
78 east to 536 south
536 south to 7 north
7 north to 148 west
