Can I try your Wee seat on my Vee for a few minutes? In ChicagoLand

Hi...I live in the 'burbs in Bartlett IL (kinda between Schaumburg and Elgin) and have an 08 Vee. I'd like to try the Wee seat to see if I like it better.

Do you live anywhere near here and would you be willing to meet me somewhere, trade seats, and go for a short ride?

My Vee seat was fine but bordering on high, then I put a beaded seat on it and it just too tall. I'm wondering if a Wee seat will fix that.

If it works out that I like it I'll post a request for a swap or buy a Wee seat.

Thanks,
Greg

If it will help with your comparison, I have a Sargent on my Wee that you can try. I'm in Palatine. -Len

Thanks for the quick reply Dranoel. Is your Sargent seat about the same height as the stock Wee seat? If so, I'd be very interested.

Hey gbw, I have 09 wee and I'm in NW Chicago. I,ve been wanting to see what a taller seat would feel like anyway. I dont remember what I've read, are they interchangable? If so, then any time, any place. Keith

gbw - I'd say the Sargent is the same height as stock. Email me if you would like to stop by and try it out. -Len

The Sargent has a different profile. It may be a little higher in back but it gets lower and narrower in front. All stock seats are interchangeable between all years and sizs of V-Stroms. I don't have a 650 seat any more, just a 1000 and a Sargent.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Appologies for the delayed response. Had a busy weekend and didn't get online at all. Lets get together and do this. I'm traveling a lot this week but we might be able to get together Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Sunday is the Slimey Crud Run. If you feel like an early morning and long day in the saddle we could ride up to that. Otherwise Friday or Saturday we could take a much shorter ride and just see the seats feel. I'll PM you later in the week once I have a better view of my schedule and the weather.

Tao650 and I met in Schaumburg to swap seats for a short ride. After some fine grub at Portillo's we shot south on back roads into Itasca, then over to Roselle via IL-19, then back up to Golf Rd on Roselle Rd. Not a long ride, but gave us both a feel that we like the seat change. We agreed to swap for a week and see if the feeling sticks. Here are a few pics of our bikes together at Portillo's.

Was great to meet and ride with Tao650, and get a first hand impression of how the seats feel before we make permanent arrangements.

GBW -

I'm in Arlington Heights, and have a little used Wee seat I would be willing to part with. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks marathonman, but Tao650 and I swapped seats permanently. It was a great deal for both of us.

BTW, based on your handle I assume you like to run marathons. Are you running Chicago in October? My wife and I signed up and started training, but we have a long way to go to be ready.
