Calling all Hoosiers!!

I was looking at the Members Index looking for some Strom owners in the area to try and hook up with. Sent a few PM's to some of you, but there are to many to send to individually! :? Never realized ther were so many Hoosier Strom riders out there! Let's try to get some communication going, guys and gals! Any of you that have lived in IN for a while know that there are some great roads in the south starting in the Martinsville area and on down. I'll personally show you some! The V-Strom is the perfect bike to to explore some of those backroads! Start posting and let's start riding! Remember, folks, as they say, "There's more than corn in Indiana!"

Good Post!
Brendan Kearns
Clay City, IN (between Terre Haute and Bloomington).
I ride daily to-from work, weather permitting and almost every Sunday.
I enjoy the twisty, hilly backroads of Southern, IN.
I host at least one "big ride" each year, plan on doing several Stromtrooper rides this season.

Let's hear who else is out there.

Actually, Indiana has two places named "Clay City". The other is near my neck of the woods, about 3 miles SSW of Santa Claus; down south of I-64 between Lincoln City and Santa Claus.

And you are so right that the 'Strom is perfect for Southern Indiana rides. If you haven't done it, try Indiana 66 along the Ohio River from Troy to Leavenworth and Indiana 62 from there to Corydon. It's narrow, hilly, twisty and pretty much very of cages. There's also a good restaurant in Leavenworth called "The Overlook". You'd think you were looking down on the Rhine.

But the 'Strom also does a nice job of keeping up with traffic when you need to. I was at the show in Atlanta over the weekend and had no problem moving right along side an FJR.

The 'Strom is my primary commuting tool and given the state of the roads here in the hinterland it's about perfect.

You are definetly about the 66/62 routes. Great, scenic roads! I've driven them in my truck a couple times, but have never rode them on a bike, unfortunately. That's gonna change this year! I've been to the Overlook both times I've been down there and it's pretty cool! Nice to sit outside with a cold one and watch the barges go by. 8) Oh, and they have great catfish too! Maybe we could plan a get together and meet at the Overlook for lunch then take a nice river ride!

I just picked up my DL 650 last weekend. Will look forward to connecting with the other riders in the State. I'm sure there are some great rides.
