Indiana riders, what's up?

Hey guys and gals!

Hopefully we'll have some better riding weather soon, what's everyone up to? Any rides planned for this year?

Hey.....I have been thinking about eveything, eastern Iron Horse, central Rapid City, some ADV stuff, guess thinking about Moonshine 1st. That is if any of us have jobs and money in 2 months :-( I want to go everywhere, but also think I may want to save my money to buy pork-in-beans. What you thinking on ?

I'll be at Moonshine as long as there isn't ice or snow.

Arrow Cabin fever

On the touring side we are looking at some stuff in Wyoming and the Dakota's, wife says she wants to do a short trip to the Smokies, and after that we will riding a bunch south of Indy on normal weekends just to keep ourselves entertained.

On the maintenance side, going to finish valve adjust tomorrow and see how the bike runs. Got a Rick Mayer seat due the 2nd week of April, going to be placing a big order at SV racing soon, need to work on the comm system a little, maybe a new GPS mount, and maybe new tires. Got a Euro screen I need to install, bike needs a wash and an oil change. Umm.....what else....

I was day dreaming about a different paint color.......

I guess that's it, you know normal winter stuff.

I think I wouldn't mind an Indiana Stommers get together this season. I just seen a post about some Southern Ontario Strommers getting together, that might be kind of fun to ride up there. Although I'm not convinced there are any good roads in S.O.!

One rally every month - minimum. No long trip this year, so its weekend jaunts for me.

Now, next year, Continental Divide Ride...

Oh, and I have to aquire a DR-Z400S or an older KLR650 and start prepping it for the CDR.

The wife and I are planning on doing a bunch of day & weekend trips this summer in all directions.
Probably visit my friends and family up in the northwest corner of Ohio. Ride over to the Iron Pony. Explore more of the roads south of Bloomington(the fun curvy ones). Mostly just explore the roads in Indiana and see what our favorites are.

We are planning to take an extended weekend for our vacation and just ride the entire time. Not sure where we are going yet, but I can't wait to just get out there an ride and not have to worry about anything else.

Jessica sold her 2004 Sportster that she had and we are getting her a 2009 Road King. Should be a lot more comfortable for her and make for longer rides for us. She is excited about the new bike and the possibility of less vibrations.

I put 8K miles on my bike last year and my wife put 7K on her sportster. Hopefully we can put a lot more than that on this year.

As always, hope to do a good deal of riding in southern Indiana. I am also planning on a trip to West Virginia probably in July. Otherwise, playing it by ear.

Good to hear what everyone has been doing. Maybe we can again meet up for dinner a few times this coming riding season.

I put my GF on the back of the 'strom this past October for a 4 day weekend. Great fun! Her longest ride by far. I hope to get her out for a few days again this year.

One of my goals for this year is to do some motorcycle based camping. I used to camp a lot when I was younger (Boy Scouts), but it's been a rare event since then. I'd also like to explore some non-paved roads. Got to take that in easy steps though, I have zero non-pavement experience.

My bike is currently torn apart for the 15k service and stiffer springs.

Bike camping is nice for cheap weekend getaways. I suggest an air matress though - never know what kinda ground you are gonna get now days.

I plan to do one weekend rally a month this year, and most of them I think I'll be camping at. Wanna tag along?

Absolutely! I'd thought about asking to ride with you guys before, but it sounds like you do a lot of dirt stuff. Not that I'm opposed to that, but I have zero experience off road and wouldn't want to hold you up.

I'm still waiting to get my bike out. All my work is done, but I'm stuck waiting for a rear sprocket. The Pitbull sprocket I was sent didn't fit and they're sending another.
