Talking Amazing Adventure - Mexico to Central America Feb/Mar 2016

I have been working on one of the items that has been on my bucket list. My 2016 Central America Adventure Trip. I am looking for additional riders to join me. It doesn't have to be the whole trip. Meet me somewhere and ride for a week.

I would like to leave approximately Monday, February 15, 2016 from Leon, Guanajuato Mexico. The countries that I plan to visit are Guatamala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras and Belize. I am looking at a 30 to 45 day trip. I am really on no set time frame but don't want to do 500 mile days. I will stay in hotels and in the tent in National Parks and on the beach. I don't want this to be a brutal trip.

I will be riding a 2016 Vstrom XT with aluminum panniers and top case. I plan on bringing a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, hammock and cooking supplies. I also plan on having riding clothes, rain gear and 2 sets of clothes.

Some of you guys don't know this but I was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer 2 1/2 years ago and by the grace of God and modern medicine I am in remission. It has been a horrible time but I am thankful that I have learned so much about myself and what is now important to me. It no longer is about the money and saying I will accomplish it someday. Things can change in the blink of an eye!! If this is something that you have always wanted to do, don't put it off. Ask the boss for the time and beg, borrow and steal to make it happen. You can't really can't take it with you and it will have you remembering for the rest of your life all of the memories.

I am a 47 year old red blooded American who resides between Mexico. Los Angeles and Phoenix. Please offer suggestions on places to see, where to stay and what to do. Everything is truly appreciated. I am scouring the boards, libraries and internet finding all the information I can. You can also contact me at [email protected]. I also have the domain lifeofanadventurer.com and will be putting something up in the next few weeks.

Mark, about the only thing worth while in Honduras is the island of Roatan, there is a ferry that runs between the island and La Ceiba. There is also the Mayan ruins in Copan, that's pretty much it.

If you decide to come this way, I can offer you a spare bedroom, hot water, cold beer (or beverage of your choice) garage, tools and there is a Suzuki dealer less than a km from my house.

PM me at [email protected] as your plans become more solid.
