re Owens River and rising water. I haven't been following it much but I imagine high water everywhere is expected. I did get a couple inflatable paddle boards recently but we are strictly calm water paddlers.

Clive, I'm not thinking about dirt excursions, 'cept maybe in my 4 Runner. I just noticed the road when googleing places.

Are you thinking of doing it on a smaller bike? Silver Canyon would be fun on a dual sport like a DR 650. I used to do a loop up Silver and down Westguard (168).

Greg, Yes I have, years ago on a DR 350. No Idea what conditions are now. You can poke up it a couple of miles and see what you think from Deep Springs Valley (168). I did see a guy come out of there once on a big KTM. That would have been too much work for me. Keep me posted. I'm heading up to Carson City today, after I verify decent weather. In Aug we are planning to head for Nova Scotia. weird.....the face on (168) can't fix

    Yo, Clive,
I was map traveling and wondered if you have taken Wyman Creek Rd from the Bristol cone pine road back to 165?
Looks like a long ride down a canyon.

    Hola, Clive.
I usually stop at the Ranch Cafe in Olancha since it's about 180 miles from home. Lee Vining would be good but after I have a gut buster brekky, I'm good until dinner.
Looking forward to another ride up 395. It's nice once I get above the 14 merge. Just hoping the weather has a bit less snow than the last time I went to Tahoe.

I'll give you a call when i'm in Olancha or North!
    Cheers. Greg.
