Rok straps are the only long term solution that doesn't loosen or break when whatever you are strapping down shifts, deflates, gets wet, vibrates around, or leaned against. Everything else fails one way or another.

I don't know if everything else fails but Rok Straps definitely work well!

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)
SMIDSY detailed report.

Yes those are cam cleats to me too.

The cleats I'm referring to have no moving parts and only work with shock cord, not with ropes like cleats with moving parts.

Rock straps! All day, Errday! I hesitated to purchase them for quit a while. Now I try to pick up a new set once a year. They're super handy even off the bike.

Just finished a 5000KM road trip with the family out east. I used the Rok straps to secure a full size spare tire for our van to the trailer we were pulling. The tire didn't budge and was as secure as bolting it down IMO. Was so secure that I forgot it was even there most of the trip.
