I've got LEDs coming out my nose.....

I love the LED indicators on the high end cars these days. And I always worry when turning left off a busy street into a street with cars wanting to turn left into mine.
So, deciding the weak little turn indicators on my Wee needed upscaling I ordered these:
https://www.amazon.com/PryEU-Dayligh...ip+motorcycles

Ran them through the snout, spliced to the turn light wiring, trimmed them to length, peeled the backing off and stuck them down and viola! I am a Porsche and an Audi and a Lambo on two wheels. The "on" pic doesn't do justice to how bright these things are. MUCH brighter than the headlights. They really pop! Cagers will have a much better idea of my intentions now. I hope. I also hope the Wee doesn't blow it's nose....

That's pretty cool. I'll be interested to know what the longevity of those will be.

Did something similar, mounted mine on front side of handguards. They seem to help and are well clear of the headlights. My top box and side cases have brake and turn signals mounted up high and wide..cheers Doug.

They are solid state so should last beyond my ability to ride...

Have you got those wet yet? I don't believe they're intended for direct exposure to water, but I could be wrong.

I've thought about using LED strips to illuminate the red lens in my top case. The proper Givi lighting kit (V90) is not available in the US, and a homebrew LED setup would be cheaper anyway.

I'd need to run more wiring though, and I'm a bit put off by that. I'd need to drill a hole somewhere to run the power & signal lines, which just means another ingress point for dust/water.

Also, I guess I'd need at minimum 2 strips - one for "running light" and the other for "brake light."

Fortunately most (all?) of the SMD LED strips I've seen expect a 12 V power supply, which is easily done on our Vstroms.
