Company sells me a product that doesn't fit, expects me to do their job.

So I bought some generic-ish adjustable levers from a random Ebay seller. The levers were advertised as fitting my bike, plain as day.

I went to put them on, and they don't work. Basically, the switch gear interferes with full travel of the clutch lever. I didn't even bother putting the brake lever on, since I"m not interested in having mismatched levers.

I knew up front that the seller didn't take returns, but for $20 I figure who cares and took a shot. I wasn't even that mad about it. I did however leave the seller negative feedback, because the product blatantly does not work for the advertised application. I gave them five stars for everything except "product matches item description," because they don't.

Today I get this:

Haha, no. You make it and say it fits. It doesn't. Not my problem. I'm not your R&D department.

2013 DL650A, OEM handguards, Weld86 bash plate (for now), Trax side and top aluminum cases
Coming soon: HEED crash bars and skid plate, Barkbusters Storm handguards, sweet blue shorty levers from Ebay

Sounds like all you have to do is send them a side by side picture and you get the correct set of levers likely at no charge. win win.

Nah, it's not about "correct" levers. What they sent me is what was shown, what was advertised. It doesn't do what it says on the tin.

Sounds like they are trying to find out what's wrong so they can fix the problem.

Ya'll are awesome, and I'm a dumbass. Couple of you made me go back and read more carefully and I'll be damned if I didn't completely misunderstand what they were after. I've reached out and we're going to see what we can figure out.

I'll have some Pinot Noir, please.
When my levers went to broken, I got $20 replacements at the motorcycle shop down the street. Not fancy but worked without issue.
Sometime forgetting about the local brick and mortar shops can bite you.
If they didn't work I'd have been able to go back and reorder a more correct lever.

I've got a buddy who's disable he sells stuff on ebay. Negative feedback hits their profit margins very hard, eBay links what they charge for their service with the sellers feedback ratings. They may not take returns but looks like they would've been willing to fix mistakes, I try to always give a seller a chance to fix an issue before leaving any feedback.

Like I always say when something doesn't go right kick scream throw tools and blame everyone else. Then go on the internet and make a huge ordeal out of something miniscule.
