SH 775

No issues with my 09 650 yet, but I believe in PM. 42K. Digital voltmeter.
So, where is best place to purchase a Shindengen SH775 upgrade for my machine ?
Thanks

Great board!

Do yourself a favor and get the Shindengen SH847 which is an upgrade to the 787.

The source many have used is Roadstercycle.com. Jack is a straight shooter and knows his stuff. He's very reputable. That's where I purchased mine and the super kit which basically makes it a fool proof plug and play with all the deluxe cable and waterproof / dustproof connectors. My 2011 DL 650 now reads a reliable 14.6 vdc even at idle. I never get less than 14.4 - 14.6 vdc with Warm & Safe jacket liner, gloves and Oxford Heatrz Grips turned on 50%- 75% in 20-30 deg. F. weather. I have ridden in sub teens and still got 14.4 vdc.

Jack tests each R/R prior to shipment and signs the back to verify. There's lots of information to read on his site and you can also call him.

The crazy increase in cost of the 775 with so many people buying it would move me to the 847 if I was going for a new R/R now. You could probably get one together for less with careful shopping But the roadstercycle complete kit is competitive, complete and fine quality.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thanks Mad and GW, yesterday I was checking out Roadstercycle site and I could not find where he is offering a 775 at all, but did list the 847.
I'll get an 847 coming. Thanks, again

Well I installed the 847 yesterday on my 2009 650, it took a bit longer than anticipated. Seven hours to be exact.
As on most bikes, space or extra space is few and far between. And I didn't have a wide enough piece of aluminum so I had to rivet three pieces together, about an hour or so of the time. When I removed the bolts of the stock R/R, it virtually would not move 8 mm. Off came the crash bars, plastic, tank and the air box to free up the leads. I found it really tough to locate the 847 in the near vicinity of the stock unit, just no room with the crash bars.
Well here is what I ended up doing.
Yes, I am going to use black bundling wrap around the generator leads.

I was going to suggest a splat of flat black paint but whatever? It shouldn't get hot hanging out in the breeze.
So how's the voltage read?

Maybe, but I don't mind looking at AL, I usually sand blast it a bit but didn't want to doddle.
Reading are rock solid on my mounted DVM, 14.1 at idle with headlight on and an added 18 LED aux. tail light, 3000 rpm is 14.3v.
There is going to be plenty of air also behind the AL plate for cooling and I used heat sink paste, should be fine.
