So I was looking to pull the tank this weekend, and had read some very nice posts with pics on how to do it. Only to find the post still there but the pics gone? What happend? Is there any place I can go to get them back?
The Original Poster made the decision to leave the forum and to take his photos with him.
It is easy though.
Remove the fairings.
Loosen and remove the aft fuel tank hold down bolt.
Prop up rear of fuel tank.
Disconnect fuel line, (pinch the grey connector with your finger tips and slide the fuel line off.)
Disconnect the electrical connection, (near the fuel line on the left side of the bike.).
Disconnect the vent tube on the right hand side of the bike.
Loosen and remove the long bolt at the forward end of the tank.
Remove the tank.
Don't worry, fuel will NOT leak out of the tank. You will get a little "dribble" out of the fuel line. Plug the fuel line with a pencil or golf tee to prevent dirt from getting into the fuel line and from stopping residual fuel from leaking out.
