File this one under dumbass newbie mistake 101...I tried to clean a sticker off of my givi airflow windscreen with goo off and it completely discolored the area where the sticker was and just got worse from there. Anyone have any advice from here? Wet sanding or just replace it?

Is the damage in your field of view? If not you could try some Novus plastic polish or just put another sticker back on over it. Or yes, replace it. Good luck.

Polishing out discoloration is a PITA. Sometimes a polish , like Rouge, can help. Semi Chrome and other plastic products may work. Make sure you don't use a motorized polisher and melt the surface.
Even bugs and road stuff make my shields less than perfect after a while with normal cleaning.
Next time you are removing stickers, stay with stuff like Goo Gone of WD40.

Headlight restorer may work.Wet sandpaper in very fine grits 600-2000 may also help. If it fails you havent lost and you may be able to save it. I was able to save a windshield, glass mind you, using jewlers rouge and an electric buffer. Took hours to polish out the scratch from a wiper arm that was allowed to run for a long time by the previous owner. Rubbing compounds of the type used to restore faded auto paint may work too. The do come in various grades fine to course. If you do take it on let us know how you faired.cheers Doug

I have never done this, but it might work and if your thinking about replacing it anyway would be worth trying. The sticker would have been in an area that was not in your normal view. You could mask it off and use black plasti-coat spray paint to blacken the lower part of the shield. Or a color that matches the bike. A white bike might look good with white over the frosted area of the screen. Be sure to use a fine grade wet/dry sand paper on it to smooth out the damage by the goo-gone and prep the screen for paint first.

If you need to replace it shoot me a contact form from our website. I'll do what I can to help.

Thanks everyone. I actually tried level 1 of the novus plastic polisher and the Meguiars PlastX and neither helped. I am really pissed at the goo off and the fact that Givi even put a sticker on teh shield at all. I simply do not understand that. Still, live and learn on my part. I will probably just order a new one. :(

Was it the warning sticker about solar reflection? If you park with the sun behind the bike, it could result in a sun damaged dash and instruments.
