Stalling and cutting out

Just wanted to post this as it may help others
A few weeks ago I was backing into a parking stall when the motor stalled and restarted with no further problem, then I noticed the occasional splutter at intersections finally it became more frequent and needed some attention, The bottom line was that I found a broken wire where the wire harness for the RS handlebar passes thru the harness guide by the steering head. There are 6 wires in the harness 2 thin wires for the brake lamp switch, 2 thick wires for the starter and the 2 for the kill switch which were the problem. One was broken and the second was just about to. The fix was to splice in 2 wires re tape the harness ensure that there is binding or pulling on the harness when in full lock. All is good now. My bike is a all stock 2010 DL650 no bar risers etc. the design looks good and I see no reason for the wires to break other than flexing from normal wear and tear. Hope this helps someone
