New brake lever need lube?

My first time replacing a brake lever. Can I just swap out the damaged lever with the new one? Does the replacement need to be lubed? If so, any particular type?

It need to be greased, not only when replaced, but periodically.
Suzuki recommend silicon grease for brake lever.
Clutch lever is more important as more force and frequency is involved.
The more important is the shifter lever/pivot. I forgot mine the first summer, (24000 km) and it worn very much.

If you don't have a tub of grease handy, any auto parts store will have wee packets of silicone "brake grease" for 99 cents.
