I am rather surprised by the proportion on 2012+. Must indicate brisk and accelerating sales for Suzuki.

1985 Honda CB450SC (AUG04 - SEP09)
2004 Honda CN250 Helix (NOV09 - )
2006 Suzuki DL650 (MAR07 - APR15)
2014 BMW R1200GSW (APR14 - )

I just put deposit on 2009 today. Pick up in 2 weeks ( since I'm going on vacation tomorrow). 4th Wee beside 2 Vee. Finally I'm getting one with silver wheels!

Probably reflects that newer owners are more likely to enthusiastically search for information and spread their excitement; whereas older more "seasoned" owners are likely to have heard everything and said every thigh and as a result participate less.

2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 175,000+ km, 108,500+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

Maybe; maybe not. The poll doesn't have the data to support the claim.

- An alternate hypothesis could be that riders search out a forum for info when they buy a new bike.

- Another could be Stroms break and are junked so older models do not get represented.

(OK, that last one probably isn't the reason...)

Please vote in the poll at the top of the page rather than posting your ride.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html

Already voted, but I feel I must post. It's a sickness.

My first Vee was a 2007 in blue. Corbin seat, Suzi luggage, Givi engine guards, AMS bash plate, Happy Trail highway pegs.

I loved that machine, clutch basket chudder and all. But our relationship ended badly.

Then came the '04 in silver.

She redeemed me from the ashes. I farkled her up in similar fashion, except she had the stock seat and Kappa luggage. She served me well through long distances and rough terrain, but my eye wandered.

Now I'm two-timing.

The younger gal will surely win out. The only question is whether I have enough time and energy for them both, or if I need to find a new suitor for the old grey lady.

Escape the cage!
