Wee in Pine Barrens Rt563, rider said he went down

I was riding with a friend yesterday through the Pine Barrens on rt563 when we came upon a rider on a Wee, white LS2 helmet, hi-viz jacket, in shoulder. I always stop to make sure everything is ok. Those roads aren't that much travelled. (shh don't tell anyone :wink1 He said he fell over in the woods, there was sand on the left side of bike, and it took a while to right the bike up again. If you read this or a friend of yours reads this, just checking up and hope all is well.
Also, if you want to go with another rider ,PM me as I ride in Wharton State Park as well by myself and everyone tells me I should have a wingman. I'm only just started taking the Vee offroad on well groomed sand.

I'm not the rider, in fact I haven't ridden that area in 20 years but I grew up in that area and spent many days riding my 1984 XR200r around that area including the Caranza memorial, Atsion Lake, etc. great riding. The sand sucks but if you are going to fall, better sand than mud.

I'm not the rider either, but are there any fun, not too challenging dirt roads in Wharton State Park? I haven't taken my wee off road much and I'm looking for a good, introductory experience, plus my girlfriend lives in Shamong just a few miles north of the park.

Wharton Riding

Hi, if you take the main entrance to Wharton/ Batsto Village off of Rt542 and follow the main road, it will turn to a groomed wide dirt road called Washington Turnpike. Google map it and you can see that its about 8 miles long and comes out on Rt563. Most of it is hardpack with some sand. Take it easy and you should be fine. I have very little dirt experience and take my time. There is a lot of offshoots and side roads but if you stay on the widest main one you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck and have fun exploring.

I ride here all the time. Now is the best time of the year to go into the woods. We see very few hikers and horse riders. I always take my DR 650, but if you take it easy and stay on main roads you will be fine on DL.

Hope the rider who fell is OK.

Hunting season??

It's time for the Antler Dance here in the home of forest rats. We're banned from a lot of the wooded areas until spring as a result. Do you have those concerns in NJ??
