Came back from a North American ride. Saw this similar looking bike (in the foreground) outside a hotel in Ely, MN. No owner around. You?

Jamie -

Wasn't me, but I saw that same bike in the same place at the end of July when I was up in Ely for a short vacation. Never did see the owner.

Doesn't look like either of you had gone down the Echo Trail yet.

Wasn't me- I haven't been through Ely yet. I'll keep my eyes open when I do, though, it might be some locals.

Guess I should have been wearing pants...

A few years late, but I just googled for the Echo Trail. Though I'm from MN, I've never heard of it.

Not sure how you can tell if I've been on the road or not by looking at my bike. At the time this photo was taken, I'd been about 14,000 miles through seven countries in the previous two and a half months covering almost every type of terrain imaginable.

I don't know if I could have fit the Echo Trail into my plans... I was spending a few days riding up to Thunder Bay and back before heading home.
