Trip advice?

So I will have somewhere from 4 days/3 nights to 6 days next month and for now I planned on doing a ride I found out of roadrunner from Okc through Missouri and Arkansas which will be primarily on paved roads but I want to do some off road as well. So here's the deal, while this looks fun and I am sure I will love it, I am also up for doing something else. Does anyone in this area know of some good riding within that timeline starting and ending in Okc? Any ideas are welcome and if there are none then I will do the ride as planned. I will be riding solo (don't know any riders nearby) and planning on camping for most of the nights. Have at it, no idea is a bad one. Thanks all.

I've been admiring the Talimena Scenic a Drive Talimena National Scenic Byway Home - Talimena National Scenic Byway for a while now, but I haven't ridden it. But there's some dull slab between Dallas (or Oklahoma City) and where the riding gets interesting, judging by the map. Just south of the designated scenic drive, the roads around Broken Bow lake are nice, at least that's how I recall them when driving there some years ago on trout fishing trips.

Oh yeah, live the talimena as well as the road from the scenic down to broken bow. Both sides of the border there have great riding.

Years ago I got to see some of SW Missouri and NW Ar. Noel and the spook lights, Devils Den are. Great roads and scenic.
When it's all new to the rider, everything is interesting.
Never got to Talamena.
Aren't there some mounds worth investigating?

That's the problem with switching from a cruiser to a strom, I am pretty familiar with the paved roads but not a clue where the pavement ends.

Well, I will be doing the OAT the week of Sept 21st-26/27th. I am not sure how much I will get done but the goal is 100% and screw it, I'm going to try it all. Worse that can happen is I turn around if it gets too hairy for me but I'm of the mindset that I don't know my limits until I reach them. I will however be carrying my handy dandy delorme inreach se....just in case lol.
