Ride Recommendations

Can anyone recommend to rides or a long weekend tour from the Sioux Falls, SD area?

I am coming from the Minneapolis, MN area, and would be meeting friend from Fargo, ND. We would start on a Friday morning from home, meet in Sioux Falls, and return home the following Monday. We don't need to base out of Sioux Falls, but would probably meet there.

Thanks for your help

You may consider riding to & from Pipestone National Monument, in Pipestone, MN. It is worth the ride and relatively close to Sioux Falls. Native Americans still quarry pipestone to make peace pipes. They have a nice visitor center, gift shop, active artists carving many articles, and you can hike the quarry.

Also riding west into SD you can meet up with the Missouri River and several Lewis & Clark historical sites. Lots of great roads along the river both north & south of I-90. Many great things to see from Yankton to Niobrara to Fort Randall up into Pierre. The interstate rest area in Chamberlain, SD has a Lewis & Clark visitor center and Asta Lakota Indian school has a nice museum. Just a few ideas depending on your interests and how much saddle time & distance you want to cover.
