I've been online-cheating on my Wee

. . . . by lusting over for-sale ads for VFR 800's.

Yeah yeah different genre of bike I know, definitely a shift toward the *SPORT*-touring direction. I rode a friends 2001-2002 ish once, and I was thoroughly impressed. And they're still perfectly capable of carrying all your possessions either to work or weekend adventure.

. . . also, anybody read anything about how much of a failure honda's dual-cluth/automatics have been?

I'm just assuming they haven't sold much, but I could be wrong.

Also I see a bunch of bikes on Honda's site i didn't know existed, i've seen the NT700 in the shops, but didn't know there was a NC700 or a CTX700.

The NC has probably been discussed here and I missed it ; i've been kinda detached from the world for nine months. . . .

I lusted pretty hard after the NC700V "dullville' when it first came out. It's even harder to find one where I live than a VStrom - I've only ever seen one bike in the wild.
If it were closer in price to the Glee, I might be on one. At $11k, tho, it was out of picture early for me. I also don't think it will be a popular bike in the US, so parts/ support/ aftermarket might be disappointing.

Still, tho - integrated bags, driveshaft, 680cc, adjustable windscreen, Honda reliability... there's a lot of practicality there to overcome the 'vanilla-ness'.

It's probably just me so no offense, but I'd feel sick to my stomach if I spent $11K on a bike like that. I just couldn't do it. I'd have to go and buy a BMW1000RR to recover.:biggrinjester:

No reason to avoid the VTEC models. Some complained that the VTEC comes on too suddenly, but I didn't think so at all. A few rides in and you'll recognize exactly where it engages and expect it.

I came to the wee from a 99 VFR. I miss the gobs of power, great brakes, and good suspension, but the wee remains a better all around bike for me. If I could, I'd definitely have kept my VFR.
