I know this stuff is a rip off for how much it costs, but my question is, does it work as advertised? Is there a product that does work like that? My side cases and lower fairing could use some love. The PO must have been stiff as a board and kicked the bag about a million times. Can you get those out? I would gladly pay the $35 bucks or whatever to get all my black plastic looking spiffy.
Not sure about "wipe new" as I'm not aware of what that is. I've been using Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic restorer with good results. It makes the surface slick so would NOT use it on seat upholstery. Hate to see anyone slide off in a turn!! Not permanent but does last a reasonable amount of time and brings the black plastic back.
I use pledge, usually the no name Wally world generic version. I have found it works on just about everything (don't use on seat!). As a side note, I just sold my dad's '68 ford pickup with not a single crack in the black plastic dash, he only ever used lemon pledge. Though he used the "fancy" name brand stuff! For really dry faded plastic, apply several thick coats and let soak in. Then buff off.
Been using the Mothers Back-To-Black for the last year, works well not only on hard plastic but on rubber seals (like around windows on cages). Seems to last a reasonable time. Can't yet say how well it preserves the plastic (haven't been using long enough) but definitely holds off that gray powdery look well.
