Givi Top Case - Major Lighting Upgrade

Hello...new rider and new Strom owner here. On about day 5 of riding to work full time, almost got rear-ended in broad daylight. So I went on a mission to improve my braking visibility. My Givi E46 top case already had the E92 lighting installed. But that wasn't enough (and as you can see, one of the bulbs is out and I need to order the replacement lighting panel).

So I called a buddy of mine who makes/sells/installs LED lighting kits for Harley guys. We took the reflector and trim pieces off and installed 96" worth of red LEDs and tapped into the wiring in the box (which is tapped into the brake lights via the EB kit designed for a modulator). I will take a better pic and post...this is my super-excited iPhone pic.

Needless to say, it is quite alarming - which was the goal! Plus it wraps around the side of the case so is uber-visible. First custom farkle for my Strom...yeah!

Nice!

I'm looking at top boxes right now. I bought my Wee with a Givi mount on the tail and I am debating about buying a GIVI or a Besteem 929. I love waking people up when hit the brakes too. I built a light bar for my KLR that flashed.

I like yours a lot.

Are you sure it was lack of brake light to why you got rear ended? I know more in this case is definitely better, but I was bumped once at a parking lot exit cause the guy was texting and didn't realize his foot wasn't holding the brake firm enough. Moron.

Nowadays I'm more apt to blame texting and driving for when someone doesn't hit the brakes on time.

Wasn't actually rearended, just a pretty hard stop behind me...enough to motivate me to design the world's most powerful Givi Top Case brake light lol
