As was pointed out by Twisted in the other thread, companies use these codes to figure out if it was worth while (sales wise) to set up at an event. If they get bad results due to the coupon code being spread around on line, they don't know if it was worth their time at the event.
Let's encourage them to have a Stromtroopers code and leave the others alone unless you've been to the event. Using it otherwise does save us money, but really it's rude to the vendor.
gotchya, lesson learned on their end then. Maybe next time they offer discount codes for folks at events they'll create one-time-use codes, like everyone else on the interwebs. Rude or not, they still made money off of me!
I dunno, if they didn't want it to get spread around, they should have made it a one-time code. They do seem to be aware of the internet's existence...
RockAuto.com (awesome place to get cage parts cheap) regularly sends out discount codes and they specifically encourage you to spread them around.
My son tried to use this last night and it was dead. He had an order for about 400 bucks but without the code it was more expensive than buying the stuff individually off the net so TT lost out.
