Well gang, it has been an awesome 5.5 years. Yes, I purchased my 2007 DL650 off the showroom floor at Apex Sports in Colorado Springs, CO. And over the last few years, the WeeStrom introduced me to adventure riding. This bike will be forever imprinted on in my memories. I have logged 37,400 miles and done things on this bike that even, Suzuki would be proud of.....

As a parting memory, here are some pics......

My boys are a big part of my memories.....of LIVIN LIFE LARGE!!!!

......and my daughters.....

Yes, for the past couple of years, we have had three WeeStroms in the garage. Our dream, was to ride to Dead Horse and back on these bikes....but life gets in the way sometimes..... Oh well, we will do it one day, just on different bikes. My bike was the last to sell....as the boys have already sold theirs. They went the direction of dirt on Yamaha YZ's.

Great pics. You certainly squeezed every bit of adventure out of your Strom.

Your upgrade is exactly the direction I would go if I were looking to change. For now, I'm going to enjoy the AL2.

Ride safe,
EV

Awesome pics. I hope to take my Wee on similar adventures as you did.

I was also considering a 950/990. It's a dream bike of mine, but I just didn't think I would go off road enough to really make it worth it. Based on you previous adventures, you look like you will definitely use the off road capabilities of the KTM.

Congrats on the new bike.

John, I came across your Adventures on Motorcycles blog while deployed in Iraq and I have to say it was part of what inspired me to buy a Strom. Thanks for sharing. BTW I also bought my bike at Apex, I live in Colorado, and I have two boys. My boys are younger but I already have my eye on an old dirtbike to get them started. Good luck with your new ride.

You are rich well beyond the amount of $ you have.

This is definately true. I have a 14 and 17 year old and they love to be with dad and ride with me. It makes me feel good. All the best wishes to you and your family. Also love the orange.
