Charity Ride

I was thinking about setting up a charity ride maybe this summer where sponsors pay towards a charity per mile ridden. Anybody here have any experience with this type of thing? Anyone interested? Thanks in advance.

Ok. I want to see where this goes. I was thinking of maybe doing the ride to benefit pediatric cancer research or something similar. I figure why not do what we mutually love, riding, and do it to help someone. I am going to seriously look into the logistics of this and I will post the results. Thanks.

Kids Cancer Care

Thats an awsome idea, we are doing something similar. We are seeking pledges as we ride from the bottom of south america to the top of alaska. We are encouraging people to ride along with us and raise pledges per mile. I see you are in pennsilvania, so that is a ways off our route. But perhaps, keep posted with our website,, as we have arranged with the Kids Cancer Care Foundation to set up an online registration for our ride where people can register and others can log on and dontate on their behalf. Check it out for ideas, they should have the specific page set up for us shortly. They currently have one set up for another similar event. Check it out for ideas. its the trico ride for a lifetime.
I wish you all the best in setting up your event.

Never had any experience on arranging a fundraiser, but I would be very interested in helping. I have been very active in the Ride 4 Kids ride since my younger brother got diagnosed w/ a brain tumor in 04'. I volunteer for the Triangle Ride(Raleigh) and the Asheville ride each year in North Carolina, and have been looking for a way to raise funds. I plan on taking a cross country ride around August, and possibly catching the Utah ride while im heading to California. This could be an excellent opportunity to raise funds per mile since I will be travelling around 7000 miles in two weeks. The doctors at Duke University have some great research going, and need all of the help they can get to fund the research. Let me know if I can help!!
