Hi All.

I just moved to Birmingham, AL.

I'm hoping that some fellow Strommers have some suggestions for good motorcycle roads in the area.

Also hoping for some suggestions for dealers in the area (respectable for maintenance).

Thanks.

MM,
I recently joined this forum and am looking through threads so you have probably figured out some roads by now. I just moved to Shreveport, LA from B'ham last August.

Great roads to ride are route 25 just east of B'ham - around 29 Dreams area and beyond. Route 5 going south to Mobile is pretty good, can get busy at times with logging trucks. Head out towards Broodwood, just north of Tuscaloosa, great roads all around there. Very good roads are just north of you around Gadsden, Ft. Payne area, absolutely beautiful roads around there. Those are just some of the places in your area, statewide, plenty of scenic roads east, north and northwest of you. Also Anniston area has a few good roads.

Dealers are a little harder - I had a Honda when I left the 'Ham and just bought the V a few weeks ago. I really don't have any dealings with Suzuki dealer but I believe there are only two, one in Trussville area and the Big Number One Suzuki right off 65 - downtown area. You are in a good area with a large motorcycling community with lots of activities. Ride safe.

Thanks for the road recommendations Craase.

I've only been in Bham for about 3 weeks. So, I haven't had much time to explore. I'll definately be trying some of your suggestions.

And don't miss the Barber Motorsports Park motorcycle museum up around Leeds, AL. I've never seen it but have heard good things about it. Enough so that I'm going to do a day trip down there in the spring to check it out.

There is also the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, just up the road from you.
