Acrylic/plexiglass shatters like that.

Lexan/polycarbonate bends and is better windscreen material. It is softer so has to be coated. It deteriorates faster in UV light so has to be replaced more often. It is a bit more expensive. My 2005 Wee endoed and had a huge scratched area on the MP polycarbonate windscreen and a dented tank top and top box lid. The screen did not break though.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

so the question now is, what do I replace it with.

id like to find something that might reduce buffeting a bit more. I was thinking of a Parabellum.

Your old windscreen is an acrylic Cee Bailey, not a Cal-Sci as you stated in the video. If I was going to buy a windscreen today now that MP is out of business, I'd get a Cal-Sci. The relieved lower portion with the vent above it make the Cal-Sci easy to identify. It is modified acrylic, supposedly the best of both worlds, not shattering like acrylic or deteriorating like polycarbonate.

I feel for ya. I hit a bird this year at around 55 mph with the right handguard. Much to my surprise it didn't do anything to it but I had guts and such on the side of the bike. Sure glad the handguard was there, even if it was the "flimsy Suzuki" model...:beatnik:

Sure it will. Any windscreen that will work with the stock bracket on a 2004 or later Vee or any Wee will work with the Madstad bracket. The Glee screen will not work on a Madstad.
