Need to meet with a DL1000 owner in Michigan to review / compare triple clamps
As we all know the DL1000 gets a top triple clamp with removable handlebar clamps. The DL650, for some reason, does not. I have been wondering if the top triple clamp from a 1000 would bolt on to a 650 and it is time for experimenting.
If the top clamp fits, this opens up a wealth of handlebar options for us 650 owners since we now could run 1.125" bars & bar clamps instead of being held captive by the 0.875" bars. Of course bar risers which also convert to 1.125" clamps are an option, but a crappy option.
I'd be willing to do the tryout in my garage as the prospective DL1000 owner enjoys beer and pizza, and I live in southeast Michigan near the Palace.
If there are willing DL1000 owners, please post. I will detail, photograph, and post the results.
