DL 1000 stock seat + passenger backrest

I got PMd this question by Concrete Daddy

I've recently become aware of this AWESOME group. I own an '04 DL 1000 V-strom, with a few farkles. My wife & I enjoy riding up and down the West Coast of California, so I'd like to add a passenger backrest for her comfort. Problem is, I've got SUZUKI OEM Top case & side Panniers. From the looks of Pirateslair passenger backrest, I won't be able to utilize my Top Case-due to the knob that sits atop the rear rack?
So, my Questions are:
Will the passenger backrest interfere when the Top Case is installed? Not too concerned if it's snug right up against it.
Assuming the knob is replaced with a flat/countersunk bolt, will that affect securing the backrest? I would keep it installed 100% of the time.
What is the COST of the Pirateslair passenger ('04 SUZUKI DL 1000 V-strom) backrest, anyway?
Thanks for your reply! You always have great Answers for the many Riders here on Stromtroopers!"
