Alaska from Victoria trip August 2012

I am planning a trip from Victoria BC, to Hyder, up the Cassiar hwy to Yukon and Alaska. I am leaving August 5th. heading up highway 99, then up. I only have ten days to two weeks. Any body else heading up there around the same time? I dont have a riding partner yet, so would be fun to meet other people on way. I am planning on doing as much camping as I can.
Mark.

I'm planning an August 6-24 trip from Seattle to Alaska. I plan on camping as well. Undecided on the Dalton or just sticking to pavement... I guess it will be weather/desire dependent. I'm not sure how well I'll do for riding in the relative scope of things, just got the bike this month, but it would be cool to meet somewhere along the way.

Alaska 2012

Hi Yesler, Wow, what a great way to hone your skills. Riding up to Alaska will be an adventure.
I will be a couple of days ahead of you. I Plan on being in Hyder around August 7th. ( I am actually leaving on the 4th,) From there, up the Cassiar to the Telegraph Creek turnoff. From there up to Watson Lake, Yukon. Next up to Whitehorse.
Hopefully we will see each other up there! I will be on a Red DL650 with BC plates. My helmet has Italian flag colors, and chequered flag emblem.
Mark.

Well I am anxious to see who will prevail, my brain or butt. I'll be the noob with the orange and yellow reflective vest on the orange Vstrom with WA plates and a yellow MEC foam sleeping pad strapped somewhere. Hopefully we have good weather, tasty salmon, and a steady breeze.

Camped at Meziadin Lake Campground. Would love to get to Whitehorse tomorrow but doubt my butt can handle that. Didn't leave Seattle until early am on 7th.
