Hello

Thanks for letting me join your band of V-Strommers. I live in New Zealand, but I understand "Yank" coz I served on attachment to US 25 Inf Dvn (1/21st - Gimlets!!) way back when. I've ridden many types of Jap machines, and the wee 2011 V-Strom has the best manners so far - well it hasn't bucked me off. Got a few bells n whistles fitted, so I'm as happy as a fat politician at a banquet. Intending to ride a few more South Island roads as well as fang around my local tarmac. The radar-detector helps me keep my licence and the Givi touring screen keeps the wind from making me deaf. I find the advice threads quite interesting, including the shite thrown at dumb-asses. I'll prob'ly be asking dumb-ass questions too when it comes time to take a spanner to the Strom. Cheers.

Greetings Pete, I spent a couple of weeks riding the south island in 2000. Impressive country, great roads winding through the country with little traffic, friendly people, and they liked Americans. Clean too I don't remember seeing any litter.

Just so you know, us southerners don't take very kindly to being associated with "Yanks" in any way, shape, or form! :biggrinjester:

Hi Banditrider. When I get rolling South again, I'll give you a holler. Be good to get a gander at all the bells & whistles you've got fitted. Thinkin about a radar-jammer before they're made illegal and can't be bought.

Come on in!

I've never made it to New Zealand but I surely hope to and not too long away. I was "supposed" to go with my family on a lengthy contract 'way back in 1976 to be the administrator of your National Criminal Justice database in Wanganui. The thought of river running in jet boats lit my fire! Sadly, that opportunity failed at the last minute due to your internal politics.

But I still want to be there and hopefully I can spend part of my time on two wheels.

"Yank" is what foreigners call Americans. They're not distinguishing between North and South.

Now, go find someone with an Irish accent and ask them what part of England they're from.
