Turn signals not working?

I just added a new set of bars and riser. Everything seemed fine until I noticed my turn signals weren't working. I they go off when I press the hard button but not when I turn the turn signal. I I checked the fuse and it's good I'm not sure what to do next. I does anyone have a diagram of the assembly?

See if you put the screws in wrong. They are different lengths and the shorter one goes in front. If you put the longer one in front, it will hit the hazard button switch.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

I took the screws out and that didn't seem to make a differrence. We took the signal assembly out to look for any broken wires and didn't see any. When we lifted up the white plate the assembly came apart in 3 pieces. I think I know how it should fit back together, but nothing is really clicking back in place.

Here are some pics of what we are looking at.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The selector switch is pressed in to cancel. Not other movement will cancel, only select one side or the other.

Sorry I meant the turn signals will illuminate when the hazard button is pressed, but the signals will not illuminate when pressing the turn signal switch in either direction.

I guess for now I just need to get the switch back together before start trouble shooting. Does anyone know how this goes back together. When I opened it up it came apart into 3 pieces.

I couldn't find any info on putting the switch back together. I figure something got out of position when yo did the job the first time. The hazard signals work so it's the switch, not the relay.

Grrrr...this always happens when I work on something. I have an uncanny ability to break things. I've posted this thread on the vsri forum as well hoping someone there might have some experience. My thinking is that we probably took something apart that wasn't meant to come apart. Or it was pulled apart when there was too much tension on the wires. It looks like the parts should click back together as there appears to be tabs and clips. I'll look at it again today in the light. We were working last night in the dark so obviously that didn't help.

If anyone else has any thoughts please chime in...I really want to avoid a trip to the bike shop and a new switch assembly.
