Wheel modification

Has anyone tried to fit a set of TL1000S or SV rims (and tires) onto thier VStrom?
I just pulled 3700+ miles on my Strom and enjoyed the ride. I can honestly say I will not put it onto the dirt for any reason. I have a WR450 for that purpose.
I want my riding to stay strictly asphalt on the Strom. Before I chose the DL, I looked at the Multistrada. I was sold on the bike except for the painful seats. The wife and I disliked them from the beginning. So, in order to make my DL more 'sporty' I had a dumb idea of fitting the VStrom with TL1000s Wheels, change the forks and get a top triple clamp that woud allow me to retain the handle bars.
Has anyone here attempted this mod? It would make my bike more like the MultiStrada or the new '07 Triumph Tiger and that would keep me from selling it. I still have the itch to corner hard but ride comfortable which is why I didn't initially go for a Monster or SV1000.
Thanks for your input.

Maybe 9 months ago, I read that someone did exactly that-much efforts, a fair chunk of money spent (even though he already had a TL), and very little tangible rewards, as the Strom is designed to work well with the wheels it has. Perhaps a bit of research into better tires for the stock rims would be in order, along with lower bars, cut down the stock shield (which looks great!), and a better sounding muffler. OR... a used TL for your garage (along with the Strom, of course!).
I understand what you're saying about the stock seat. One of the first things that I did on my Wee was to have Rick Mayer Saddles make a custom seat for my butt on my bike. 600 mile days are now no problem.

P.S...
Several folks here run their Stroms on track days, even with the stock tires. I understand the you can drag hard parts, even with the stock tires. Race Tech makes cartrige emulators for the front forks and any number of rear shocks/springs are available.

does anyone know where the article, or forum/post is that may have the run down on what this guy did to his big strom?
I REALLY want to know. There has to be a way to make the 1000 more like the Multistrada. They are nearly the same height, wheelbase but the Suzuki is a wee bit porkier.
Thanks,
Loren

I'm running a first gen SV rear wheel. (Because I had no wheels to begin with on the strom, it's a wreck rebuilt) I used spacers to move the rotor outbound. And made spacers for the sides.

I've got the wee-strom and a 1st gen SV650. I've thought about trying to fit the SV front wheel to the strom just for grins. Not sure if it's a direct bolt on or if it would take some mods. It would be fun just to see how it handled. No reason to do the rear as it's the same size as a stock SV wheel no. I don't think you would want the 180 rear tire on a strom.
