I have progressive and it has good coverage compared to geico. Geico wanted 246.00 annually for full coverage and progressive was 123.00 for full coverage. I am not sure what is offered in Ky. Shop around is the best advice anyone can give you.

Progressive....I shop mine around every time its up for renewal and they always have the best price. I've been with them since 01..Totaled my Subaru and they were helpful and easy to work with. No complaints at all.

I had Progressive for about four years. Then they tried to raise my rates almost 100%. I dumped them and combined my cars/house/bikes with State Farm through Jason Todd in Stanford. Excellent price and a great guy to deal with. His hours are sometimes tough, if you want to see someone, but I've done most of my dealings over the phone or email and it's been very good. Six oh Six-three six five-9882 if you want to have him quote you. Good man.

Jeff,
Start by looking at these links for insurance coverage definitions. Decide what coverage you need and what you don't need for your individual situation. (For example, if you financed with a minimum down payment you need gap insurance. If you have an umbrella liability policy, you need only enough liability coverage to meet the umbrella policy requirements.)

Phone around. Check with local agents and on line sources. What you want is a low cost outfit that pays like a slot machine when you have a valid claim. Good luck!

Also review your other coverages and see if it makes sense to move other policies for better coverage or lower costs. Most insurance companies offer multi-policy discounts. Be sure and ask any agent you talk to what discounts they offer. Amica is one outfit I've gotten good quotes from in the past, but I don't know of they offer motorcycle coverage.

I use Rider Insurance, but I do not think they cover Kentucky. Check them out at Rider.com

What's so special or unsavory about Kentucky insurance-wise?

Seriously. I'm so curious that I'm passing up a lot of potential Kentucky jokes here...

Beats me---Rider said no but they are very limited in their coverage states anyway. Hey, I have joked about Kentucky for years. Then I get assigned here with my job---moral: Be careful how you joke around!
