Plan your escape route!!!!

I was commuting to work the other day, and I glanced at the clock and noted that at 8:17 is the time a bus stops on my route to pick up kids. This is significant, as the road has many blind curves and hills, and this particular bus stop is right on a blind curve. Passed the bus stop without seeing the bus, and thought all was well. Came over the next blind hill, only to see a bus in the opposite lane with red lights flashing and a car WAY too close stopped in front of me. I got on the binders hard and stopped in time, then looked behind me.
There was no way anyone coming over the hill was going to stop in time without hitting me. I was inching my way to the side of the road beside the car in front of me and planning my escape route up the grassy bank next to a fenced-in pasture. Then I heard it: The howling of brakes behind me! I took off up the grassy bank and the braking SUV got stopped before hitting anyone. YIKES! That'll get your heart started in the morning.
So boys and girls, plan that escape route and save your butt.

Good advice though I would be filing a complaint concerning the location of the bus stop. Poor planing on the schools part.

I live in a deer infested area of TN. Sometimes I get so amped up about looking for the darn things at night I freak out when a big bug flies by or gets lit up in the head lights. Ever happen to anyone else?

I watch during the daylight too BTW-

In the Swan Hills near here there are lots of moths that when they fly into the headlight beam look just like deer eyes shining. Trying to sort the deer from the moths can be very tireing because there are lots of both.
