Isn't the Suzuki show today, 9/21? When do we hear about the 07 DL?

Which ones? The DL650s are out. The DL650As are coming to Ohio in 30-60 days according to Honda East of Toledo. I have no info on the DL1000s.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html

2007 DL650s were part of their early release program in June.
2007 DL1000s will be announced at the dealer show this weekend, I have not heard anything yet.

DL1000 on the way out??

A dealer buddy of mine told me he thinks there's a possibility they'll be discontinuing the DL1000 since the 650 is significantly more popular.

Am interested to see!

That would seem to make sense as the new and improved Wee was rolled out some time ago. Or else the 1000 is getting a major makeover.

I wish they'd make something along the lines of an FJR or ST 1300

Man with that big beastly motor  . That looks sweet. Perhaps they and Suzi will partner on this. I had the good fortune to rent an ST1300 and did The Dragon and 250 more miles of those cool roads that I could fit in a day.

What a fantastic ride for a mission like that. The best things about the St-1300 is the braking power, that awesome electric windshield, the handling and the really great motor. I'll also have to abmit that 70 MPH at 3K RPM was very nice too. I just can't see 15K for a weekend toy.

I'd like to see the DL 1000 look like the STs or FJRs with the smaller motor. That's why that new Moto Guzzi Norge has my attention.

A Beemer killer is what I'd like to see.

Sorry but I can't agree with ya!!!! They should make some simple suspension, windshield, brake and motor upgrades....and NOTHING else! If I wanted a bike like an ST....I would buy an ST.

As for the 1000 probably going away...it will be due to the wonderful Euro specs for emissions. Yes the 650 is a much better marketing tool, and that is why it is so popular. Quicker, more powerful and lighter small bore engines...is where things are heading. I don't like it, but that is what the future holds.

I think you are pretty much right, Brian. The best upgrades to my Wee is the MRA windshield, Sonic Springs and Sargeant seat.

However, that electric windshield is a major neato if you've never ridden with one.

See y'all Saturday night
